Vincentian Service Day, May 12, 2018
Join DePaul alumni across the country on Saturday, May 12 for Vincentian Service Day, an annual event celebrating the spirit of service on which DePaul was founded. Nearly 1,600 members of the university community, including alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends, join together on this special day to volunteer at services sites around the country.

Vincentian Service Day 2018 Sites

Chicago Sites

The Anti-Cruelty Society in River North
Volunteers will craft cork toys for cats and tug toys for dogs at the facility. Supplies and craft instructions will be provided.

Breakthrough Urban Ministries
Volunteers will assist with preparing and serving warm meals to those facing food insecurity.

Evanston Public Library
Volunteers will help count and organize summer reading flyers for local schools. Volunteers may also be tasked with restocking shelves and "weeding" to remove books from the collection.

Garfield Park Conservatory
Specific volunteer tasks are weather-dependent. More information will be provided closer to the event.

St. James Food Pantry in Bronzeville
Alumni will assist with tasks such as passing and distributing fresh produce, packing the produce and grocery bags, unloading and loading supply trucks (for those that are able) and breaking down empty boxes.

Regional Sites

St. Vincent de Paul Atlanta
Volunteers will help sort and organize donations, stock shelves, clean the store and help with other activities as needed.

St. Vincent de Paul North Texas
Volunteers will assist in sorting, packaging and distributing pantry item donations. Alternate assignments may include upkeep of St. Vincent de Paul campus grounds (for example: painting or yardwork).

St. Vincent de Paul Denver Area
Volunteers will help sort, package and distribute food bank item donations, and help with other activities as needed.

St. Vincent de Paul Los Angeles
Volunteers will help sort and organize donations, stock shelves, clean the store and help with other activities as needed.

St. Vincent de Paul Louisville
Volunteers will assist with preparing and serving lunch to patrons of Open Hand Kitchen as well as helping clean the dining room.

Miami Rescue Mission
Volunteers will help sort and organize donations, stock shelves, clean the store and help with other activities as needed.

Hope for New York
Volunteers will help prepare and serve breakfast to visitors of Father's Heart Ministries, as well as help clean the dining room as needed.

St. Vincent de Paul Phoenix
Volunteers will assist with sorting, cutting, cleaning and cooking food items in preparation for dining room and house call deliveries.

St. Vincent de Paul San Francisco
Volunteers will assist with preparing and serving breakfast to visitors of St Vincent de Paul's kitchen, as well as helping to clean the dining room.

St. Vincent de Paul Seattle
Volunteers will help sort and organize donations, stock shelves, clean the store and help with other activities as needed.

St. Vincent De Paul Twin Cities
Volunteers will help sort, organize and package donations and help with other activities as needed.

Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C.
Volunteers will assist in sorting, packaging and distributing food bank item donations.
