Vincentian Service Day, May 4, 2019
Vincentian Service Day is an annual event that celebrates the spirit of service on which DePaul was founded. Nearly 1,600 members of the university community, including alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends, join together on this special day to volunteer at sites around the country.

Chicago Sites

Breakthrough Urban Ministries
East Garfield Park – The Black Alumni Chapter is partnering with Breakthrough to provide volunteers to prepare and serve a lunch to those facing food insecurity at Breakthrough's Men's Center.

Produce Distribution at the YMCA Metro Chicago
Humboldt Park – Volunteers will assist with sorting, bagging and distributing groceries for insecure seniors and families.

Mujeres Latinas en Acción **FULL**
Pilsen – Join DePaul's Latinx alumni community to assist with building care packages for clients going through crisis intervention and a canvassing campaign around the Pilsen neighborhood.

The Anti-Cruelty Society **FULL**
River North – Volunteers will assist with making toys and other crafts for animals in the shelter. Visits with puppies and/or kittens may be arranged.

Loyola Dunes Restoration
Rogers Park – Join the Young Alumni Committee to assist with planting flowers and grasses that grow under native oaks in a back dune environment. All tools, gloves, plants and instruction will be provided.

Regional Sites

Trees Atlanta
Atlanta – Volunteers will help keep the Brownwood Park Recreation Center clean and safe for all visitors. The forest restoration project includes planting, weeding and cleaning up litter.

Greater Boston Food Bank
Boston – Volunteers will helping feed the hungry by preparing meals to be distributed to those in need.

St. Vincent DePaul Society East Cleveland **CANCELLED**
Cleveland – Volunteers will assist residents of the Fr. Michael Wittman Ozanam Center by preparing and serving food.

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado
Denver Area – Volunteers will help with a trail construction project in the Pronghorn Natural Area in Aurora, Colo. Alumni will weed, clear paths, lay materials, plant and post signage.

Friends of the Rouge **CANCELLED**
Detroit Area – Volunteers will help keep the Rouge River clean and healthy by removing litter from the water and banks, as well as completing other small projects to test or treat the Rouge.

LA Food Bank **FULL**
Los Angeles – Volunteers will assist individuals suffering from hunger by assembling meal kits from a selection of donated ingredients.

Hudson River Park
New York City – Volunteers will assist with keeping the Hudson River Park clean and enjoyable for all visitors. Planting, weeding and collecting litter are among the potential tasks.

Arizonans for Children
Phoenix – Volunteers will spend time with children in the Arizona foster care system, facilitating an arts and crafts activity.

HandsOn Bay Area
San Jose – Volunteers will help keep up the Heritage Rose Garden by planting, weeding, mulching and cleaning the area.

Food Lifeline
Seattle – Volunteers will help fight hunger by sorting donations and packing meal kits from donated ingredients.

Urban Harvest STL
St. Louis – Volunteers will help with the upkeep of this rooftop urban farm during its first weekend of the season. Alumni will plant, weed, water and clean the farm.

PRISM Minneapolis **CANCELLED**
Twin Cities – Volunteers will sort donations of clothing and food and assemble kits to be distributed to those in need.

Food for All DC
Washington, D.C. – Volunteers will help hungry patrons with mobility or transportation issues. Alumni will help assemble meal kits and then deliver them to those in need.
