Operation Read and Restore
Home

DePaul University Libraries, in partnership with the Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Mission & Values, is excited to announce the second year of Operation Read and Restore.

The mission of Operation R&R is to support the morale of our troops by ensuring that those serving in military outposts know their loved ones and communities care about them.

DePaul faculty, staff, students and alumni are encouraged to submit the names and contact information of family members, current DePaul students, alumni and friends serving abroad in the U.S. Armed Forces. These individuals will be contacted and asked to submit a wish list of preferred materials. Volunteers will then “adopt a soldier” and make donations that match some of the items on the soldier’s wish list. Packages will be shipped overseas in time for Armed Forces Day, May 16, 2009.

There are two ways to get involved:
1. Submit a Soldier: Submit the name(s) and contact information of family members, students, alumni and friends serving overseas.
2. Adopt a Soldier: Donate new reading and audiovisual materials based on wish lists created by the nominated service men and women.
