DePaul University Moves Offices, Classes into 14 E. Jackson Location
In June 2008, DePaul expanded its footprint in Chicago's South Loop with the acquisition of the historic Lytton Building at 14 East Jackson Boulevard. This fall, several DePaul schools and colleges took up new digs in the building, including the College of Communication, the School for New Learning, the College of Computing and Digital Media, and the School of Public Service.
The building, located at the corner of Jackson and State, was completed in 1913 and has undergone extensive renovations in recent years. Upon acquisition, DePaul invested some $7 million to repair the building's ornate terra cotta exterior and upgrade several of the building's floors for academic use.
As part of Reunion Weekend 2009, alumni, students, current and former faculty and staff are invited to check out the new spaces during a special Open House taking place on Oct. 16 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Details about the Open House can be found on the
Reunion Weekend Event webpage.
