July 2009 marks the 10th year of study abroad for the School of Public Service (SPS). Please join us on Saturday, Oct. 17 for an elegant evening with DePaul University alumni and their guests at Chicago’s historic Drake Hotel. SPS alumni are also invited to the additional special events listed below.

Annual Lecture Series
Place: Union League Club, 65 W. Jackson Blvd.
Time: 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

The School of Public Service is excited to welcome Burton A. Weisbrod to the Union League Club of Chicago as our annual speaker. Dr. Weisbrod is a distinguished researcher and author of books and articles concerning economic trends in the government and nonprofit sectors. No registration required.

Open House
Place: 14 E. Jackson Blvd., 16th Floor
Time: 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

DePaul University celebrates the opening of its newest Loop location, 14 East Jackson Boulevard (formerly the Lytton Building), with an Open House for alumni, students and their families, as well as former and current faculty and staff. The College of Communication, the School for New Learning, the School of Public Service, and the School of Cinema and Interactive Media invite you to stop by and tour the new state-of-the-art facilities, greet friends and faculty, and learn about the exciting programs and initiatives that will take place within their new home.

Study Abroad Alumni Reception, Reunion Dinner and Celebration
Place: The Drake Hotel, 140 E. Walton Place
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.

The Study Abroad Alumni Reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. Learn what the Study Abroad Program is doing today and reconnect with fellow study abroad alumni. During the reception, we will be showing a slide show featuring past study abroad trips. If you would like to have your photos included, please send digital images from your study abroad experience to reunion@depaul.edu.

Following the Study Abroad Reception, enjoy the Reunion Dinner and Celebration with alumni from all DePaul reunion classes. The Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M., president of DePaul, will offer remarks.
