The Black Alumni Chapter sponsors events and programs to build connections within DePaul's alumni community.
MISSION: The Black Alumni Chapter strives to foster opportunities for African American alumni to become actively involved in enriching DePaul University through interaction with fellow alumni, current students, faculty and staff.
The chapter serves as a conduit for stimulating the interests of all black alumni so that further educational, professional and social interests can be addressed individually and collectively.
PURPOSE:
- Develop a wider acquaintance and fellowship among the African American members of the DePaul community
- Become active in mentoring current students of DePaul University
- Provide a network for the presentation of problems pertaining to education and requests for services to the mutual benefit of black alumni
- Create networking opportunities, both professionally and socially, for black alumni
- Establish an informational base through which specific communication regarding campus diversity programming and activities can be disseminated
- Encourage a unified continuing regard among black alumni for opportunities offered at DePaul and abroad
- Promote and nurture academic excellence among all constituents
- Enable black alumni to identify with current and prospective black students providing support and mentorship in an ongoing basis
- Promote a positive environment which reflects and enhances the values of a global, multicultural and ethnic society
