Alumni to Get Inside Look at U.S. Capitol Building
More than 150 alumni and friends are registered to attend the Washington, D.C. Alumni Reception at the Capitol on Thursday, April 23. Guests will enjoy an exclusive reception in the Capitol’s Mike Mansfield Room while enjoying complimentary wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres with fellow graduates. DePaul alumnus and U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms, Terry Gainer (LAS MS '76, JD '80) has offered to lead a private tour of the building, which may include an inside look at the Senate chambers. Nominate yourself or a fellow graduate for the fourth annual "14 Under 40" issue of DePaul Magazine. The issue features alumni who are less than 40 years old and at the top of their game in their industry or community--or both. Anyone who earned a DePaul degree and who is under age 40 is eligible for consideration. Nominations should include the name and contact information of the candidate and some brief details about his/her accomplishments as well as the name and contact information of the nominator. DePaul Ranked Among Best Workplaces for Diverse Managers
DePaul placed 12th overall in DiversityMBA Magazine's fourth annual national ranking of the 50 best workplaces for managers from diverse backgrounds. The university ranked highest among higher education institutions that participated in the survey, and received special recognition for its retention strategies. The high marks were based chiefly on DePaul’s strategic plan, VISION twenty12, particularly the goal to “Be a Model of Diversity." Alumni and friends can be among the first to take a look at "Double Exposure: African Americans Before and Behind the Camera," during the exhibit’s opening reception on April 16 at DePaul University Art Museum. The exhibit begins with a pre-reception lecture by Deborah Willis, professor and chair at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Her lecture will be held in the museum’s North Gallery at 4 p.m., followed by the opening reception at 4:30 p.m. Exhibit and registration details are available in Alumni News.College of Law Welcomes Four to Faculty
