DePaul Named No. 1 College Town by Princeton Review
DePaul was ranked No. 1 in the nation in the “Great College Town” category by the Princeton Review’s annual college rankings. This marks the sixth consecutive year the university has made the nation’s top 20 in the category. To learn more about the ranking, visit the DePaul University Newsroom.

Study Measures Diversity of Chicago Neighborhoods

As Chicago showcases its rich cultural diversity in scores of summer neighborhood festivals, a team of researchers at DePaul University’s Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development has released a study identifying the city’s 23 most diverse neighborhoods, according their residents' ethnic origin, income level and age. Among other findings, the study concludes that Uptown, Rogers Park, Hyde Park, Bridgeport and Albany Park are the most diverse communities. For more findings, visit the DePaul University Newsroom.


Distinguished Scholar Appointed New Keeley Chair in Investment Management

DePaul appointed renowned scholar James R. Booth to its new Christopher L. Keeley Chair in Investment Management. The academic chair is funded by a $2 million donation from the Keeley Family Foundation, founded by John L. Keeley Jr., president and chief investment officer of Chicago-based Keeley Asset Management Corp. (KAMCO), and his wife, Barbara. To learn more, visit the DePaul University Newsroom.


DePaul Coach Joins "Operation Hardwood" in the Persian Gulf

Men's Basketball Coach Jerry Wainwright traveled with other NCAA basketball coaches and sports personalities to the Persian Gulf to visit U.S. troops as part of “Operation Hardwood: Hoops with the Troops,” a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour. "Operation Hardwood" featured a week-long basketball tournament and championship game with some of the best military players stationed overseas. Theatre School Announces 2008-2009 Season

The Theatre School at DePaul is delighted to announce its 2008-2009 season. The Theatre School Showcase of Contemporary Plays and Classics (Dexter Bullard, artistic director) will present "A Streetcar Named Desire," "Dancing at Lughnasa" and "Urinetown." Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences (Lisa Portes, artistic director) will offer "Still Life With Iris," "Alice in Wonderland" and "Bud, not Buddy." Chicagoland Alumni: Mark Your Calendars for Chapter Launch and More

A full slate of events is planned for Chicagoland alumni! On Sept. 23, celebrate the launch of the Chicagoland Alumni Chapter with DePaul's president, the Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M., at the McCormick Freedom Museum. Then join fellow alumni later in the fall for a Young Alumni Wine Tasting and the Second Annual Chicago Neighborhood Tour. And don't forget Reunion 2008!

Cheer on a DePaul Olympian
For the second time, DePaul Softball Assistant Coach Cat Osterman is representing the United States at the Olympics. In 2004, she came home with an Olympic gold medal in softball. Read about Osterman's experiences at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing on her weekly blog, Cat Tales.
