DePaul Welcomes Four New Trustees
DePaul University recently named four prominent business professionals, including three DePaul graduates, to its Board of Trustees. The new trustees are Fay Hartog Levin, Carla Michelotti (LAS ’72, JD ’75), James T. Ryan (MBA ’87) and George Ruff (COM ’74). More information.

Operation Read and Restore Brightens Holidays for U.S. Troops
Members of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and other armed service men and women serving overseas received some 130 boxes of books, CDs and DVDs from the DePaul community during the holiday season. The university adopted these military men and women as part of Operation Read and Restore. More information.

Adult Bridge Program Marks 15th Anniversary

The School for New Learning (SNL) will celebrate its 15-year collaboration with the City Colleges of Chicago to provide education for underserved adults during the “DePaul Adult Bridge Summit – Reaching Out and Reaching Up: A Day of Reflection” on Jan. 26. More information.


Video Journalist Presents “Listening to the People of Sudan and Darfur”

Video journalist Jen Marlowe will discuss “Beyond the Soundbyte: Listening to the People of Sudan & Darfur” on Jan. 23 on the Lincoln Park campus. Her work focuses on documenting the small victories and the astounding personal tenacity that will hopefully lead to peace. The event is presented by DePaul’s Institute for East African Collaboration (IEAC). More information.

Benefit of the Month: Ray Meyer Fitness Center
Keep your new year’s resolution to exercise more by joining the Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center. Located on the Lincoln Park campus, the 120,000-square foot center features a four-court gymnasium, racquetball courts, swimming pool, track, and strength and conditioning areas. Alumni are eligible for special discounted membership rates. To receive the discount, you must present an alumni ID or copy of your diploma. More information.

Advance Your Career at DePaul’s Career Week
Make connections and learn how to advance your career during DePaul’s Career Week, Feb. 19-24. The week includes a series of career-related activities and seminars for experienced adults, those in transition and those looking for change. More information.

Cheer for Blue Demon Basketball
You are invited to two special basketball events. On Jan. 26, alumni and friends will gather at locations nationwide to watch the men’s basketball team take on the Marquette Golden Eagles, during the first Nationwide Game Watch. Then meet us at Allstate Arena for Homecoming and Hall of Fame Celebration on Feb. 9 when the men take on the University of South Florida. 2008 Hall of Fame inductees include the 1988 WNIT National Championship women's basketball team and Kevin Edwards of men's basketball.

The Office of Alumni Relations invites alumni from classes that end in “3” or “8” –- the classes of 2003, 1998, 1993, 1988, 1983, 1978, 1973, 1968, 1963 and 1958 –- to join their reunion class committees. The class committees encourage fellow alumni to attend the festivities during Alumni Weekend, Oct. 16-19, 2008.
