 DePaul’s Enrollment Reveals Record Demand
DePaul University’s 2007 enrollment figures show both an unprecedented number of admission applications and a freshman class with the highest academic profile in school history. Minority students make up approximately 27 percent of the class. More information.

 Men’s Soccer Coaching Staff Honored by the BIG EAST

Men’s Soccer Coaches Craig Blazer and Adam Tinkham were named BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year at the annual BIG EAST awards banquet in November. Blazer and Tinkham guided the Blue Demons to the best season in program history with its first NCAA Championship appearance and 12 wins. More information.


 Accounting Professor's Bequests Will Benefit Tax and Art Programs

Both future accountants and art majors studying at DePaul University will benefit from bequests made this fall by Ron Marcuson, a longtime faculty member at DePaul’s School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems. More information.


 DePaul Mourns the Passing of Munster

DePaul University lost one of its own on Dec. 7 with the death of the Rev. Thomas P. Munster, C.M. (LAS MA ’53). A lifelong DePaul sports fan, Munster served in a number of leadership, staff and volunteer positions at DePaul Academy and DePaul University, beginning as an academy faculty member in 1949 and serving most recently as a university chancellor. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Vincent's Church, 1010 W. Webster Ave., Chicago, concluded by a Mass of Christian burial at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, Ill.

Do you know a DePaul graduate who has made outstanding contributions in a professional field or through service to others? Nominate that person for the inaugural DePaul Alumni Awards. Recipients will be recognized at a special dinner during Alumni Weekend, Oct. 16-19, 2008. Please submit your nominations today, Dec. 10, by 5 p.m. More information.

 Cheer the Blue Demons to Victory
The DePaul basketball season is well underway! Be part of it by joining fellow alumni and friends in locations nationwide to watch the men’s team take on the Marquette Golden Eagles on Jan. 26, 2008. You also can cheer on the Blue Demons at celebrations held before men’s homes games against Providence and the University of South Florida and when the men travel to Detroit Mercy and Seton Hall. More information. 

 Join Your Reunion Class Committee

The Office of Alumni Relations invites alumni from classes that end in “3” or “8” – the classes of 2003, 1998, 1993, 1988, 1983, 1978, 1973, 1968, 1963 and 1958 – to join their reunion class committees. The class committees help plan events during Alumni Weekend, Oct. 16-19, 2008, and encourage fellow alumni to attend the festivities.
