CTI Launches Project Management Degree

Employers consistently rank information technology (IT) project management as one of their most critical needs. Responding to this market demand, DePaul University's School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems (CTI) is launching a master's degree program in IT project management this fall. The program, aimed at students with a bachelor's degree and IT experience, seeks to combine technology skills with a set of project leadership and process management skills to produce exemplary IT project managers.

Coursework will focus on a number of areas, including risk management, procurement and contract management, time and cost estimation, tracking techniques, IT testing and quality assurance. Students can complete the 13-course degree in one or two years, depending on the quantity of course work attempted each quarter. The program is offered on DePaul's Chicago Loop Campus and via CTI's industry-leading distance learning technology.   For more information, visit www.cti.depaul.edu.

Operation Read and Restore:
DePaul Adopts 100 Soldiers

Help brighten a soldier's holiday with the gift of a good read (or video). The "Operation Read and Restore: DePaul Adopts 100 Soldiers" project, sponsored by the DePaul University Libraries, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Mission and Values, will send "care packages" of books, magazines and DVDs to 100 military personnel who are serving overseas and have ties to DePaul.

There are three ways for alumni, students and staff to get involved:
  • Submit the names and contact information of family members serving overseas.
  • Donate new books, magazines, DVDs.
  • Assemble care packages.
Watch for new details as the project is rolled out this fall, with an official launch and call for potential recipients on Sept. 5, 2007. For more information, visit http://operationrandr.
