The following discloses the information-gathering and dissemination practices for the DePaul University Alumni and Friends website.
IP Address and Cookies
of website visitors are used to identify and gather broad demographic information. Cookies
are used to gather general information about visitors and enable the site to deliver content specific to the visitors’ interests.
This site may include forms for requests, profile updates, event registrations and/or surveys. Portions of the site may ask for or require contact information (i.e. email address, mailing address, phone number) or unique identifiers and demographic information (i.e. zip code, marital status).
Information received from these forms is used to verify the user’s identity and to respond to inquiries, fulfill requests, confirm registrations and/or payments made by alumni. This information also will be used to update records in DePaul’s alumni database. Alumni may control their contact and alumni directory preferences in the alumni profile
section of the website [see Choice/Opt-Out below].
This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Profile pages and forms that require financial information are always secured using secure-socket layer.
The online Alumni Directory is made available as a service to DePaul University alumni. Alumni can access the directory information only after their alumni status has been verified and they have logged on with a username and password. Alumni may select to opt-out of appearing in the directory at any time by updating their online profile or by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations at email@example.com
or by calling (800) 437-1898.
DePaul partners with several companies to provide added services and benefits to our alumni. DePaul may share alumni contact information with select third-party vendors with whom the university has contracted. These parties have agreed to only send information regarding pre-approved offers from DePaul University. Users may opt-out of receiving third-party offers by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations.
This site contains links to other sites, including social media websites and online communities. DePaul University and the Office of Alumni Relations are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
